Self Drive – Croatia

6 Days/5 nights Self Drive Croatia

Day 1: Zagreb
Arrive into Zagreb, day at leisure. Overnight Zagreb.

Day 2: Zagreb – Plitvice Lakes National Park
After breakfast pick up your car rental vehicle and drive out of Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours. Discover the park with its cascading lakes and waterfalls that are part of the UNESCO Heritage List. Overnight in Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Day 3: Plitvice Lakes National Park – Split
Continue today with a drive to the second largest city in Croatia, Split. This afternoon enjoy a private 2 hour sightseeing tour of the city. Split is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rich cultural and monumental heritage of this 1,700-year old city is seen on a walking tour. View remnants of the city’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, and it contemporary attractions. The tour will focus on the 3rd century Diocletian’s Palace, which represents the heart of the inner city, and where all the most important historical buildings can be found. Overnight in Split.

Day 4: Split – Dubrovnik
Today travel south through Croatia towards Dubrovnik. Take the coastal road and enjoy a stop at the Croatian Riviera town of Makarska for lunch. Before arriving into Dubrovnik perhaps drive into Ston to view the 5km long ancient stone wall which is the second largest defensive wall in the world, second only to the Great Wall of China. Arrive into Dubrovnik and drop your car hire vehicle off before your overnight stay.

Day 5: Dubrovnik
This morning discover the many wonderful attractions of Dubrovnik, a charming Adriatic port and city inscribed on the UNESCO’s World List of Cultural Heritage, with a private sightseeing tour. This ancient town, surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural master places, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. Take a walk to the Rector’s Palace, The Franciscan Monastery with its 14th century Pharmacy, or one of the other places of interest and just wander around in amazement through its cobbled streets along the Venetian facades of the stone houses.

Day 6: Dubrovnik
Transfer to Dubrovnik airport for your onward journey.
